When a call comes into the office for service, details of the case are noted
and the needs of the client are entered into the computer. The computer
then selects the most appropriate person for the case.
Some of the factors that affect the selection process are:
 | Skills: If you have taken extra courses and have certification in a
required skill, you will be on the top of the list for that case. Some
of the most commonly required skills are: palliative care, ABI
(acquired brain injury), Alzheimer's Disease care, CPI (crises prevention
and intervention), CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), and ethnic cooking
to name a few. It is important to ensure that you submit any
certificates to the office so that you receive credit for them and so that
they are entered into your database to influence selection in your favour. |
 | Language (s): Clients often request a caregiver who is able to
communicate in a language that they can understand. |
 | Hours of service/availability of staff: If your schedule says that
you are not available at the time that the service is required or if you
have not submitted your availability to your staffing coordinator, you may
not be selected for the case. |
 | Past performance: Reliability, punctuality, previous success in
similar and/or difficult cases does influence our selection process as
well. A history of ongoing excellent performance as well as
professional, respectful interactions with clients and the office gives
indication that you are the type of employee that Regional Nursing Services
wants to represent the company in the community. |
If you have taken extra courses, possess special talents, speak any
additional languages, are available for any extra time or have any other skills,
please contact your service coordinator to ensure that we are aware.
